BE very wary of taking ante post 8 on 18 , and sail the seas.
hearing both wont run the july.
If not, Richard confirmed on legend of Arthur.
But you never know till its seen, therefore i say be wary

I believe if the Snaith yard have no intentions of running both 8 on 18 and Sail The Seas, they should notify thebookies/public that they are doubtful starters, bar injury. That would be the right thing to do.

2 million rands in stakes ,where are the three year olds ? Sponsors can't be happy with the turnout.
Maybe open this race for older horses in future .

I look at the field....one thing for sure the pace maker is Makozole. He will be in the front, same colours as 8 / 18. So you know it will be a true run race. The only real question in my mind relays to if Sail the seas has improved, then not only could he win, but he could ovwr work and then cost him a real chance of the July. Even worst if both horses go hard at it, it could cost them both in the July.

Maybe with the lack of competition, and based on collateral form 8/18 wins unexteneded without effort in no more than a training gallop. Not winning by many, but do it easy with minimal effort. For me if this is the tactic then the connections will see how the horse came out of the race and make a decision then.

Eitherway I still think Snaith is very lucky this....everything else on the log barring OC and See it Again looks 5 lengths off in terms of firm.

In a 7 horse field, whereby 3 of the 7 will run out of steam at 1600m mark, it becomes a 4 horse race at the 1800m and of best a 3 horse race at the finish. Can't see a chicane in this 1. No chance

Agree with u for the 18 horse July. It will be tougher then.

Not a single KZN trained runner.

KZN owners must love the season.

The season has started very slowly

The uncertainness about Eight On Eighteen and Sail The Seas running in the HDJ2025 is ruining the season.. There should be an update from the stable

It helps nothing with ante post....every year same drams....so it's better backing an outsider you know wants to get in than these big horses trainers play games with....who does it hurt if trainers play open cards with horses that are guaranteed a run in the July....at this level owners with hot horses are not in the July for the punt rather the Blue Ribband... at least we know a horse like See It Again is going for the race...

Digressing from the thread title, the Woolavington, really fancy Mocha Blend. Was on course last time she ran, was all the rage, actually jumped favourite. Didn't get the best of starts and don't think the race was run to suit her. That was a good effort returning from a 3 month break. Should strip a whole lot fitter, don't believe she will start at the current odds, 7/1.
