Dear

Thank you so much for bringing this to my attention.
Fascinating to read.
There is no doubt that Captain Al is a very good stallion,
but even if he wins the championship this year, Jet Master is
our beloved CHAMPION & he always will be. He is the most
courageous, fantastic stallion ever bred in South Africa & one
of the finest in the world. It would be wonderful though if J.M.
could win the championship for 5 years running.

I am having sleepless nights at the moment & my husband & I watch
each & every race where there is a Jet Master or Captain Al running.
Very exciting, but terrifying non the less!!!!

I am so lucky to have two such fantastic men in my life (H.C.D. &
J.M. !!)
They mean the world to me.

Holding thumbs, & thanks for your good wishes.

Kind regards.

Pat Devine.

Captain Al is certainly a very good stallion, but a comparison of their Gr1 progeny surely says a lot.

By Jet Master there are 14 (at least one in each of his first six crops):
Pocket Power, J J The Jet Plane, Mythical Flight, Past Master, Floatyourboat, Love Is In The Air, River Jetez, Ravishing, Soft Landing, Ebony Flyer, Stratos, Gluwein, Little Miss Magic and All Afire

By Captain Al there are 4:
Captain's Lover, Captain's Gal, Captain's Wild and Emerald Cove

They started stud duties in the same season and have a very similar number of foals.

Something that is interesting is Jet Master's record of stakes winners.
He got 16 individual stakes winners from his first crop of 77 foals (73 runners).
He has since got a total of 'only' 18 individual stakes winners from his next FIVE crops of 344 foals (290 runners).

Must be close. Don't know the values or what minor places they've picked up.

It's also interesting to see that they're pretty close in terms of percentages as well.

Jet Master
1189 runs, 145 wins (12.2%), 589 earned (49.5%)

Captain Al

1311 runs, 169 wins (12.9%), 611 earned (46.6%)
