Dave Dave Dave (not the first time I've said that lol)... pointing out how ridiculous (to me) someone's comment is does not actually mean I am wound up, does it?
I am naturally very disappointed but extremely calm. Thanks for the concern though mate

Funny man Dave
@ Engels......no need for a big debate my friend, we are all allowed our views, even if you might think mine are in outer space......but seriously, did you not see that 2nd "kick" that Nani gave?

The substitution by RM was great.......altho he was given a little too much space.......what a strike! Out of the top drawer that strike!

Never mind United. You have your favourite ref in charge of the FA Cup match agaisnt Chelsea this weekend in Howard Webb. On a serious note I think that Nani was hard done by. If he was looking at the RM player and he raised his foot like he did then yes it was a red but he never even knew that the RM player was there. so very harsh. But United still should have held on with there 10 players as many sides in the past have eg Chelsea at Barcelona last season. Roy Keane, who those who have just jumped on the Glory Hunter Wagon over the past few years, the ex Man United captain, said after the match that he thought it was a red card fully deserved.
Last point on the subject. How many times in the past have Man United won a match because a ref has sent off an opposing player for a petty foul?

PK. Already seen it a dozen times, no need (or desire!!) to watch it again, thanks for the offer though
Magi, I don't think anyone would disagree that at the time of the sending off United looked to be in control and the tactics employed appeared to be working. However, as a United fan I can tell you I never felt comfortable. It only takes a second to score a goal or, in this instance, have someone sent off. My personal opinion is that aside from the potential "win the game on his own" Ronaldo scenario, United are the better of the two sides and I suspect under pressure Madrid (like United in some ways) may be fairly brittle. There is a fair argument, which I think Winzip is alluding to and one I personally concur with, that if we had sent out a more aggressively attacking side we could have put the tie to bed by half-time. Yes, you open yourselves up to the counter attack more, something Ronaldo would relish, but I believe we would have coped relatively comfortably. For all the plaudits etc at half-time, I have to admit the first half bored me senseless, I am simply in the mould of United fan that is rarely satisfied unless we attack, attack, attack... at least as far as possible without being gung-ho so to speak (the Sh1ty 6-1 thrashing being a good example of Utd going way too far in that respect). The intent at least needs to be there. Of course the attack at all costs is too open a "philosophy" in today's football world of tactics and complexities but I think we missed the opportunity last night not only to win but to send out a message that we were a team to be really feared (not that we really are but the message would have been important). Not only did that not happen, we lost... imo a risk you run adopting the tactics we did. I could be entirely wrong and we might have lost 0-4, and maybe that is why I gamble and Fergie goes on and on and on
I agree with you entirely in that I do not believe that Winzip is correct in saying Fergie must go, yet again he has brought the club to the summit of the Premiership just as others, including me, are speaking of our potential slide down the ladder. The man is, imho, a football genius. For his footballing brain, his red nose, his ridiculous rantings and after-match interviews etc, he will be a bigger loss to football when he goes than possibly anyone else I can think of. Only Sir Matt, albeit in a different era, has attained the same status. Maybe that is a bias view given the team I support but that's the way I see it. Not that you like football or care about it anyway

Ex Man U captain
Keane though insisted the red card was justified. He said: "I think the referee has actually made the right call. Everyone's upset about it and it's slightly unlucky, but it's dangerous play. Whether he meant it or not is irrelevant. It's dangerous play - it's a red card.
