Yet road blocks all over to check if Joe Soap should be on the road or has " contraband".
Am I being naive by questioning the logic?
Nope it is the norm in the decisions of the Pres and his merry band.
For example pension fund fraudster, J Arthur Brown, is one of around 19,000 low-risk prison inmates set to be released – serving a 15 year sentence.
These 19000 should only released AFTER they have contracted the virus – at least then they will serve a purpose – improvement of the herd immunity.

They now want doughnations, yes want it for free so they can sell the surplus to still keep uber socialists in clover. No decent margins in these PPE and sanitizers anymore as every Tom Dick and their dog is now a supplier. We gone full circle and supplying the basic ingredients again to these throngs of bucket and chuck manufacturers.
As for the cops they are now very present in the neighborhood stopping cars and searching for booze and smokes what a joke. So sad that Cyril has lost the plot.
I think, in hindsight, we will see this period as as attempt by our wannabe rulers to exercise and show their power...having everyone under their thumb / boot...
Anyone out there believes that Bathabile Dlamini or Gwede Mantashe (to name but two of our perpetually intoxicated mental midgets) staying without liquor for this long or has their supply been unhampered?

Morning all and it’s the weekend
Day 57 and the 22nd May
Watched a disturbing documentary on BBC on how strict the SA lockdown was. It focuses on the black market for drinks and cigs and how badly it’s being handled.
Still many days to month end and moving to level 3, to enable us to see a few family and friends. Mrs S still under strong medication for a very painful attack of shingles, moves into 4 weeks stuck in flat.
The racing rescue team are on line via zoom at 10.00 and we received an email to claim for unpaid banner placement for the last few months, not sure of the procedure. We will keep the links and communication open to highlight any Tote and Tellytrack concerns on behalf of the punters.
Awaiting covid stats to update.
Will try a Braai today to give us some weekend vibe.
Song today one of my fav bands, Dobbie Bros ( becoming very popular with no cigs)
“What A Fool Believes”, could be dedicated to us all......

Note sure Mac, the way it’s going we will have to ask permissions to go for a normal dump.
We have the dustbin men this morning.

a return to level 5 would result in a civil war in my opinion.
we must already be on the brink of massive social unrest on a scale that will amke the 1980's look like a picnic.
some of the verified pictures on social media of quesues for food and social welfare asistance are more than just worrying they are pure heart break.
i dont know what the regime is thinking but i come back to this clip from the Matrix movie. and think this is the ANC mantra for our future.
if u impatient go to 35 seconds

There would be less chance for civil unrest if the government told the whole truth. The local government hospitals in Cape Town (u can all work out which ones they are) are full and overflowing... this is NOT being reported.
The hot spots though are not where the economy is driven ( so lock down is ineffective and no good argument for staying at level 4/5 )) but where the population do as they please... I have zero reason to believe it is otherwise in the rest of the country.
{sigh} Bitcoin to the moon in the next 8 months please ... I want to fast track our move out of this beautiful country which has become a shithole
