Clearly racing not saved..maybe closed door policy (with application still on top of pile) may help as 'relief'.

Any one with progress of that "golf" application??

Morning on day 60 of the lockdown.

It’s monday the 25th of May, when stop orders start to come off with many people not receiving an income.

Ok the President has spoken and as normal, very calm and knowledgeable presentation to the nation.

I am glad the economy vs humanity has now been taking into consideration and we are on the right track.

The main topic on the site is where does “Horseracing” stand??
Various interpretations but surely at this stage we must be in the position to give a minister a call and ask “what’s the story my man”.

I was glad re: alcohol, but again cigs make no sense?
Smoking does not bother me personally but I do have friends buying “shit “ for over R1000 per carton and probably a bigger health threat than the genuine legal items.

We wait with baited breath for Vee to tell us how we stand on this crucial day for Horseracing.

Here is a song from a disgraced Aussie.

with the intense part of the lockdown seemingly a thing of the past from next week. what will the new normal look like?

Education seems to be changed for ever.
Office workers will probably never go back to normal.
Restaurants will be a slightly more sterile experience
Air travel will be even more austere for everyone.
Running any business is going to be very costly to keep new hygiene standards.

racing specific

beyond the few feature races days cant see to much difference. maybe a sportsman mask for jockeys and starters.
the off course tote could be in big trouble. social distancing and standing around wwill be frowned upon for the foreseeable future.
bookies like hollywood will probably have to change their branch models. similar reason to the totes

personally i miss being able to sit at a coffee shop for an hour or so and watch the world go by.

Morning on day 61.
Tuesday the 26th of May.

Have done the stats on virus and have noticed, a substantial drop in world trends as far as deaths are concerned. SA is now on the upswing but I am sure this was anticipated and still very low vs world trends.

As far as our beloved sport is concerned, we have a few good contributions on the Vee Moodley thread, many companies now opening on level 3 as per the Presidents speech without waiting for a special letter.
I hope racing rather just goes ahead without trying to nit pick the details.

Some good UK racing starting soon and with a bit luck coupled with our own stars stretching their legs.

It will be great to get all our racing characters back in the swing

I am reading and watching that a further 8 million are returning to work on June the first.

I am sure they are not waiting for a letter?

Dave
I do not think that Racing is waiting for a letter. I think that we waiting for the actual level 3 draft to be Gazetted.
Just my unqualified opinion.
