Craig Kieswetter believes his Echoes In Rain has a great chance in the Mares’ Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival.

Interesting topic a few pundits upset that HONEYSUCKLE is taking the EASY way out and going for Mares instead of defending her title in the Champion Hurdle.

Guess a hard call but they want the champ to go out on winning note and might have been difficult to beat Constitution Hill and State Man

Good Punting

Today's options

Tuesday 7th March

Only 7 days to Cheltenham

Sandown jumps
Authorised Speed is short but should win easy
Garmaret another banker

Lingfield flat
Navy Drums can win again

Southwell flat this evening
Star Angel is best

Good Punting 👍

A study has found that the Cheltenham festival is worth ÂŁ274m (R6bn) to the local economy.

Yesterday, world women’s day, a forgotten First Lady of the turf was honoured. Despite it being illegal to do so, Ellen Chaloner was granted a racehorse trainer permit by the UK Jockey Club in 1886. Only in 1966, after a British high court ruling, women were given the right to train racehorses. Her great-great grandson is the trainer and nine-times Irish champion jump jockey, Charlie Swann. Sir Mark Prescott now owns Mrs Chaloner's former yard.

Multiple Gr1 winner Epatante has been supplemented to take on Honeysuckle, 17 wins from 19, in the Mares’ Hurdle at Cheltenham.

According to weather forecasts for now officials expect a “lovely jumping ground” for Cheltenham next week.

There is no recognised place for sulky racing in Ireland so, many local young people race their horses on surrounding motorways and slip roads early in the morning when there's little or no traffic. It's a grey area of the law and sometimes the Irish police intervene.

I can't find a page yet for Cheltenham 2023,starting in 5 days, so wish to mention that due to changed weather conditions the going for next week is likely to be Heavy or Very Soft.
