Bob Brogan wrote: I'm still getting long term members asking me for passwords from our move in July

One big fuck up, which I have to take the blame for for not making sure everything was in place before we moved.

As dave says it just takes a burning issue to get guys posting again, infact last week was just about as busy as we always was

But then it goes dodo again

Only takes a few guys to start chatting to open the floodgates

Bob - any move to a new platform has its teething problems

I understand your frustration bud

The new site is amazing and well done on your efforts to make this a smooth transition for the members :)

Start a Man Utd thread and sit back and watch the posts - ;)

I think it's because Liverpool are having a poor season, and Pool fans like myself are quiet for a change... :(

just a simple opinion but maybe one to consider bob.
all regular guests knows by now that certain posters do their homework and can almost always be followed, its also obvious when they post their is also a lot more views.
you have some member ratings from junior to elite, why not make that handful of guys your toplevel member and that will only be open to online registered logged-in members. will force some scaffegers to register and they will start posting sooner or later.

the other thing that i notice is that on the old site i been kept logged in when i went on the site via my mobile. with the new site ,if i close the window or go off i am just a guest if i go back on forum 5 minutes later. ( and i do push remember me every time)....alot of times i would have replied to something i have read but the shlep (laziness) to log in again overwhelms me most times.

or just start a threat with " get in on this Coup " or " Englander's contact details if you want summary every meeting" lol

320 odd views, 16 posts... therein lies your "answer" Colors. Even on such a simple question, on which everyone must have an opinion, hardly anyone speaks... why? is anyone's guess and there probably is no good answer (imo).

Johnny, just distinguish between throw away selections and ones people really like. You can normally tell by what they say and the way they say it. 95% plus of mine for example are throw aways, just my selection in a race.

Dave invests a fair amount of cash in this site. Bob invests a fair amount of his time in this site. (Bob, if they are only now asking about passwords unlikely they would have contributed much in the interim, lol, give yourself a break man :) ). Both probably suffer a lot of stress as a result of this site. For your enjoyment. The way to repay them is silence? It probably doesn't bother them much. Fair play. Can't say I would be the same.

JM n ZO, thanks guys but let's not pretend I am any good at this, lol, just occasionally though I like one that comes home and usually at a nice price and hopefully pays for my multitude of losers :)

Let us not make issue of the molehill imvho. As a member of various other non racing related forums this "more read than contribute" scenario is not unique to ABC. Attend any public meeting/corporate meeting and it is the vast minority who vocalise in these. It is the nature of the beast I suppose.

It is extremely short sighted to try and limit people who come on as guests. All you will do is have fewer views and a drop in traffic. Good bye sponsors. Comprehende?? ;)

I stopped posting due to some extremely clever guys always throwing abuse thinking they know better and never opening their minds to different opinions of doing & seeing things...those stubborn gentleman thinking they are God's gift punters ...always knowing more than the next guy ... I don't need to take 6 hours on a card to publish ratings to then just taks abuse from some wannabe morons...there's morons everywhere and I normally choose to avoid them

its far better to have fewer posts that are of quality than some of the absolute shit that was posted before which was actually keeping people who should be posting away from the site...theres no place on here or in racing for imposters

Pirates there are always differences of opinion, absolute shit to you may not be interpreted as such by others. Imagine how boring life would be if we all shared the same opinion. What surprises me is the total lack of tolerance shown by some when their opinions differ from others.

absolutely I agree but when the opinion is backed up by lies and the facts are incorrect then it becomes absolute shit

OK I think you are referring to something that I am not aware of and I can not comment, just to be sure I am hoping I am not included in your comment?
