So this is my take as at this point in time .... The lock down must be curtailed on Friday for all persons under the age of 40 and who do not have underlying health issues.

All persons with underlying issues, and over the age of 40 to stay at home... monitor for three weeks... then up the age to 50 or 55 ... at least get the economy going and some antibodies building up in the younger community...

Something like that ... quarantine / lock down the most vulnerable but let the economy keep trucking along !!

Thorts?

Good morning all and must say totally losing track of time?
Is it only 20 days of 35?
We have not done the 21 days yet?
Please correct me.......txs

Whatever its a long stint and numbers still going crazy except Australia and SA.

Not sure if we had an outcome on bottle store issues but we went to shops yesterday for a few top ups and all well civil and plenty stock.

Plenty racing polls and info from the operators and we can all hope for the best going forward, but if you are in the racing game be brave.

The song that comes to mind today for all parties and will become our month end anthem

Is paranoia setting in regarding the lockdown restrictions?

My neighbour has a live in gardener/domestic. My wife wants to hire him for the day to do gardening so that he can make some extra cash. I raised the concern that a resident might out of spite report our " transgression". My wife gave me that look and shook her head.

My first task this morning is cleaning out the gutters, then raking up leaves, mowing, pruning.......................

My canine has been walked twice a day for the past four years.... I walk him 4 km's (where he gets to run free and chase guinea fowl and stuff) and my wife walks him 2 km's in the evening. How do you tell a dog that he is in lock down??

So every morning I dress in black tracksuit and balaclava with face mask and take my brak for a brisky walk of only 3 km's ...an hour before sunrise. I think in the past week I have encountered one car and 2 individuals on foot.

Last nights blog post .... Dave, see if any are to your taste {grin}

sweden 119 deaths per 1 million, norway 27 to 1 million , denmark 53 to 1 million. this the worst performing pandemic in history. if this pandemic was share i would sell it.

world wide we may top out at 250000 to 300000 dead. lots will be older people with underlying illnesses that may have passed away from normal flu season.

african continent which has between 1 and 1.2 billion people has so var reported 17000 cases and 900 deaths. 700 of the 900 are north Africa. the SADC percentages are minuscule. granted Africa stats and healthcare systems woont be the most accurate or reliable. but their is enough data to make new projections. dont follow Northern Hemisphere, European models without question.

offset that against a world Economy that is in tatters. 3rd world economies will takes years to recover.

and the goofy looking masks we now are made to wear, just to pour salt in the wound.

Scrap the lockdown. let people self regulate their behaviour

The longer this goes on, the harder it will be to return to a society where pants and bras are required.

Good morning all, I now understand that Friday, which is possibly tomorrow? Would have been day 21 and the party could have started (this is only a little joke).
Just got a call from kitchen that today was the last??

So we still have a couple of weeks after that..........hell, this is a long stint.

Trying to be positive, is not easy, especially after doing the stats each morning, apart from States, the French had a terrible day.

At least many racing people putting their hands up and making statements.
It’s great to have some transparency and we might find out who is taking the bull by the horns, to try and keep racing alive.

I am waiting for the dustbin men and they will be glad to see me, it’s a small trade off for the amount of empties they will collect.
Sadly this trend will change if Cyril does not move on his stance.

Donald is in the news again and does not like the WHO, which helps with my song choice “won’t get fooled again” a great band to see live in their prime
