Well all going well its 25 of 35 and 10 days to go.......
The sun is shining and I have some yeast, so pineapple wine is WIP.
What is the old saying "I Don't care if I do go blind, I can always sell matches"
Hope all trainers are doing ok looking after the horses.
Certainly a difficult task under the current situation.
The days are long and it will be a long and winding road for all.

.....well Cyril and co relented and made amendments to essential services to have motor spares open for trade but there are very strict procedures in place....managed to find a place open earlier this morning on Louis Botha with a long queue outside....went to the back and was the only person with necessary permits so they called me inside tended to me 1st... they took half an hour to copy my permits and had to fill in a form to explain the nature of part needed for repair then they took another half hour to find a so called universal wiper blade..... paid R98 and went back to the pickup.....the box said fits 90% of vehicles .....guess mine is in the 10% that is not applicable.....:S...
but the box covered with fly and cockroach sh!t indicated that it may have been the only option available....then before I can leave some okes from the queue come over and ask how they can get permits to purchase spares....
I explain that it is only available to essential services and formal registered CIPC entities indicating nature of essential services....none of them looked like they were formally employed and were essentially required to be repairing vehicles.... they asked if I would purchase spares for them on my permit....not a f@cking chance....these are the very people I see that are out on the roads daily that should not be there...

Dave watched a relatively new racing movie yesterday...... shot in 2019..... based on a TRUE STORY.
it was RIDE LIKE A GIRL, based on the 2015 MELBOURNE CUP won by the 1st ever GIRL...... MICHELLE PAYNE..
great story line, & did bring back some memories & realities when my daughter was a jockey....... there were & STILL IS, major hardships for girls to enter this profession.... Having said that would not wish any of my kids ( girls ) or grandkids ( girl ) to enter this profession...... it's just TOO BLOODY DANGEROUS, & U ONLY REALIZE THIS WHEN ONE OF YOUR OWN IS OUT ON THE TRACK.

Just watched on the news a police sting operation for counterfeit permits, marked bills et al. A whole R300 bucks. Well done. Let's hope they carry these learning and tactics post lockdown as well.

5 years 1 month ago - 5 years 1 month agoWhat stuff do you have Magi? Show me

All my wine is finito bar this 1.5l bottle. It is just a baronne but it has been kept in conditioned storage for 35 odd years so I am hoping it is good. If not, then I will just turn it into a red-wine-vinegar reduction which is also yum.

I can see on my laptop

I thought pinball machines were banned in SA? Obviously not so.

Morning all and its day 26 of 35 and its a Tuesday.
Scotia is babysitting this morning and trying to keep the 2 bairns occupied, without electronic devices!!
Daughter and hubby working on line to save businesses and Mrs S not well (nothing virus related).
Doing the Stats the Aussies appear to have the correct approach.
Have to get back to my day job and well done to all the racing folks making extra efforts during these uncertain times.
My message has always been consistent and after reading yet more theories etc ......ITS TIME TO GET BACK TO WORK MR PRESIDENT.
People are going to die anyway.
As far as a song, one of the classics and will be my face colour by lunch
Enjoy
