That is bad luck for the punter but as you all have said he should know the rules,
however I have in the past witnessed that the bookie will take the exotic bet from you but he would take some of the his bet especially if it is a big bet on the tote there for if you win he doesnt loose that much. further more when it came to the last race of that p6 the bookie would have been well aware of what he was going to pay out if that horse won the last race and he would have covered his pay out by taking a bet with other bookmakers. or even on the tote (it would be interesting to know how many horses this punter had in his last leg and how this have effected the winning horse pay out in that last race, ??

That comes to my next question does hollywood and interbet ect have the same rule???

The punter in question is a fool. Why did he choose to play his bet with the Bookie when the Tote is the operator for all the exotics?

1]. Was there no Tote available near him to avoid placing the bet at your local TAB?

2]. Did Marshalls lure the fool to place his bet with them, leaving him no choice to decide for himself?

3]. From the above and given his 30 yr history as a punter, it becomes quite apparent that this punter is a regular punter with the Bookies and should have only himself to blame for the shortfall that he claims he was ROBBED of.

Now watch him invest his money with some STOKVEL without shopping around at the big banks for attractive interest rates.

That branch has signs that clearly state limits. The bookmakers I support up here in Johannesburg also have signs clearly showing ticket limits. I do not see what the fuss is all about.

Let me ask Louis G one question. When you have a punt on a horse, particularly when you pull one of your jockey manouvers, who do you punt with , is it the fixed odds or is it the tote? In my opinion people are selective with their criticism of bookmakers. Bookmakers play a vital role and should not be abused by their competition the way that they are. Phumelela are wanting a monopoly it is as simple as that. Punters owe neither the bookies or Phumelela allegiance, let us go to where we are best looked after.

it appears that all the front line staff at Teletrack have been instructed to promote the tote as Deez was the first yesterday bleating about the punter,Deez's friends all bet on the bookies im sure and he was always on about doubles etc so im sure he was also a bookie boy and then later it was Alister and if he doesnt have an account with a bookie i will eat grass
