Utilising the carry over pools optimally does create a better return for both the operator and the punter and we have seen it put to good use the last while with bigger days getting its fair share.
I agree with Louis that we are very selective in terms of our comments and the sport can do with a more balanced approach.
I have often thought that carryovers should go back immediately but when you think about it actually when we have bigger pools on a big day everybody wins as payouts are often skewed eg a pa that would normally pay R40 now pays R75 because of "newbie money" and the extra strike from regular punters. Hard call to make I suppose
