Day 89 it’s a Tuesday.

Looks like things are getting back to normal.
We have Zuma in court and taxis on strike.

As far as racing: talk of owners getting back on track “soon” in the UK.
Big screen plans for Derby and Oaks, a type of drive in plan (SA style).
Jump season gets underway in Ireland.

Here is a chilled song from a very chilled, cool artist

Morning on day 90.

Can you believe 90 days of lockdown, scary stuff.

At least Zuma brought a doctors note from Cuba.

Great local racing on Saturday.
MDK has 2 possible bankers for pick 6.

I thought the world had enough problems with the virus, unemployment, famine, etc, etc
Now racism a major factor, we really are in a shocking sick state of affairs.

In the early 70s, I used to watch a local Scottish band, they were a bit funky/R and B.
Not sure what the are called now?

In these days the were called the AWB ( Average White Band).
Their big song was “pick up the pieces” which we will all have to do in the future (if we have not totally destroyed the planet)?

Great music and memory's Dave. If I recall, Pick Up The Pieces was composed by their very talented saxophonist and keyboardist Roger Ball.

Could have been Kit Kat.
They were Dundee lads just up east coast from Edinburgh
Sure they were a support band at a Clapton concert, my brain a bit fuzzy.

Good morning on day 91.

Good local racing on Saturday, plus remember and take around the 15/1 for the Dettori Oaks and Derby double.

The Virus looks like it’s gaining momentum in SA, so keep safe.

As far as the financial state of SA, it’s now official that we are totally out the game and looking for a wee injection of 7$ Billion.

I am missing a song today and replacing with a bit Scottish humour to help solve our financial depression.

Covid getting closer to home... self-isolating again. Missus did stocktaking last week, there were four of them present for the entire day... two of them have since confirmed positive, ones father is now in ICU .

I gargle every two hours with double Taliskers .... neat.

Day 92 of lockdown as we reach another weekend.

The negatives we face are still the National debt, unemployment, virus increases, restaurants confirmation, jockey movements, etc

However the positives

Liverpool win the league, well done to their fans.

Big local racing with strong “Favoritas” PE race 6, running this weekend.
The following should be positive, but the “cream cookies” will be writing tickets to lay the following:
Queen Supreme, Mr Flood, Hawwaam, Purple Cloud, Dazzling Sun, Katak, Summer Pudding?
Plus a very competitive race and July pointer is Vardy vs Rainbow Ridge, Do It Again and Clouds Unfold ?

Here is a pleasant, emotional song to take us into the weekend.

Good morning on day 93 of lockdown.

It’s a massive day for racing and if you do make plenty money on the local feast, keep some for the Irish Derby tonight.
Seamie Heffernan has the weak fav Santiago at 3/1, plus Sir Dragonet 12/10.

I see that smokers got another knock back but restaurants , casinos and bookies get the green light .
Again the “common sense” factor is lacking.
Restaurants NEED to open to SURVIVE and this does not mean holding back the use of the liquor license.

You may be familiar with a grace that’s used at functions in Scotland, it’s called Selkirk Grace and FOOD for thought

Good morning on day 94 of the lockdown.

Sunday should be a day of rest but started with a burst geyser but I have a good geyser that can help me!

After yesterday’s results we must give a thought to our poor bookies.
They have all that money and can’t book a holiday.

Terrible weather in the Cape to add more misery to the increases in Virus cases.

Only relief last night was Santiago winning the Irish Derby and is now fav for St Leger .

At least Hawwaam is no longer July ante post fav and wish him well overseas.
Do It Again and Rainbow Bridge should be a good clash today and put more light on the big one ?

Watched a documentary on George Michael the other night and must say he was a superstar and great chanter.
